Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

Step-1: Online Application: 

The MRP form needs to be filled up and submitted online. No hand written application will be accepted by the Embassy.

    • On successful completion of first page, the applicant will receive an email containing Application ID and Password. Please preserve the Application ID and Password carefully for future print/view/modification of application.
    • To submit the application, click “submit” button. Applicants are not allowed to modify anything after clicking ‘submit’ button. The applicant will also receive an “Online Application Form” in pdf format.
    • Applicant has to visit the Embassy for providing biometric data along with the printed version of the Online Application form.


Step-2: Submission of documents:

The applicant has to submit the following documents for a MRP:

    • Printed copy of the duly filled-in MRP Online Application Form with bar code.
    • Photo copy of National ID card/17-digit Birth Registration Certificate. (Applicants who doesn’t have any NID or 17 digits Birth Registration Certificate may obtain the birth certificate through applying to the Embassy).

    • Original copy of the old Bangladesh passport along with photocopy of existing passport including visa page.
    • 02 copies of colour photographs [passport-size (55×45 mm). Photos should be taken without spectacles] If the applicant is a child under the age of 15 years, parents’ photos [30X25mm] are required to be appended on the application form. In certain cases, either of the parent’s photos will be accepted [i.e., if parents are divorced/ either parent is not alive etc].

    • Other relevant documents i.e., copy of marriage certificate for including spouse’s name in the MRP etc.

    • Police report for lost/damage

    • Copy of the Receipt of Payment.

    • If applicant is a student (graduate and undergraduate), a photocopy of the valid student ID card (The original ID would require to be shown during the enrolment) and current registration certificate.

    • If the applicant is a child under the age of 06 years, birth certificate from concerned authority of the Philippines will be required.

Step-3: Visiting the Embassy for Biometric Enrolment

  • The applicant has to appear at the Embassy on the appointed date with the documents mentioned above. Applicant’s fingerprints, signature on electronic pad and a photograph would be taken at the enrolment booth at the Consular Section of the Embassy. After enrolment, the existing Bangladesh Passport of the applicant would be returned.
  • Please note that a Child applicant (up to 5 years old) does not require visiting the Embassy for bio-metric enrolment. Parent may submit all mentioned documents on behalf of the child.

Step-4: Collection of Passport

  • It generally requires 6-8 weeks (sometimes more than that) to get MRP delivery because after due verifications by the concerned authorities in Bangladesh, MRPs are printed in Dhaka and sent to the Embassy which requires a quite reasonable time. The Embassy updates the applicants once the passports are ready for delivery.
  • If the passport is ‘Ready for delivery’, the applicant needs to come to the Embassy in person along with his/her previous Bangladeshi Passport. The new MRP will be handed over along with cancellation of the old passport. The applicant may also authorize someone else to collect his/her passport. In that case the authorized person has to produce the authorization letter and his/her own ID card to establish his identity.

Payment

    • An amount of PHP 6600 is to be paid for issuance of a passport. Applicant may pay to the designated Bank account.

    • If applicant is a student (only for students of graduate and undergraduate level with valid student ID card and current registration certificate) and wants to avail student discount, an amount of PHP       is to be paid for issuance of a passport.

    • The Fee is Non-refundable
